REATURN TO EARTH

July 18
Today is the day I am returning to Earth. I am very sad I have so many good memories up here in space. I was as sad, but also as proud as a peacock. I packed up everything and boarded the shuttle. Before I stepped on, I took one last look at the station and then Mias said "Come on! We need to go".We boarded the shuttle and started up the engine.I stared back and thought of how lucky I was to have been able to go to space. It was then that I realized how beautiful space really is. The stars behind us twinkled like diamonds.

I heard Mias yelling "Strap yourself in! We are going in for landing."I felt the gravity returning. I saw our landing site, New Mexico, which has lots of space to land a space shuttle. I felt the parachutes go up to slow us down. We hit the ground with a massive thud. When we landed I took a big breath and Mias and I smiled at each other. We got out of the shuttle and saw people holding wheel chairs waiting for us because your bones become soft in space so you can't walk. I was so happy to see my dad because he couldn't see me lift off because he had a heart attack and had to stay in the hospital. After that NASA said to me and Mias that we did a great job and would be perfect for another mission.

When I saw my dad I handed him this very journal and gave him a hug. I said, 'Here dad. This way you can go to space as well.'
