REATURN TO EARTH
July 18
Today is the day I am returning to Earth. I am very sad I have so many good memories up here in space. I was as sad, but also as proud as a peacock. I packed up everything and boarded the shuttle. Before I stepped on, I took one last look at the station and then Mias said "Come on! We need to go".We boarded the shuttle and started up the engine.I stared back and thought of how lucky I was to have been able to go to space. It was then that I realized how beautiful space really is. The stars behind us twinkled like diamonds.
I heard Mias yelling "Strap yourself in! We are going in for landing."I felt the gravity returning. I saw our landing site, New Mexico, which has lots of space to land a space shuttle. I felt the parachutes go up to slow us down. We hit the ground with a massive thud. When we landed I took a big breath and Mias and I smiled at each other. We got out of the shuttle and saw people holding wheel chairs waiting for us because your bones become soft in space so you can't walk. I was so happy to see my dad because he couldn't see me lift off because he had a heart attack and had to stay in the hospital. After that NASA said to me and Mias that we did a great job and would be perfect for another mission.

When I saw my dad I handed him this very journal and gave him a hug. I said, 'Here dad. This way you can go to space as well.'
July 18

DAILY LIFE IN SPACE
Today we arrived at the ISS. It is the most amazing thing that I have ever seen. When I got there I felt a rumble in my stomach. Today was the day I was going to have to eat in space. One of the things that I was not looking forward to was eating. They feed us bags of microwavable food and every body ate together. It's the time where everybody talks, because they don't see each other most of the day. I was given a bag that said beef with vegetables, add water heat up for 5 to 10 minutes. I felt like I did when is in Chad and I was about to eat bugs.I stabbed my spoon into the mush meal and threw it into my mouth. It did not taste that bad, but it felt very

June 29
I have so much free time, one of things that I like to do during this time is looking at the Earth;I feel as though I am in a whole new world, looking down at my old one. I also read and listen music. One of the things I need to do is keep fit in space. They have equipment like a treadmill that they strap me to so that I don't float away while running. I met a man at dinner who has been in space for 8 months. I have met lot of interesting people up in space.
July 14
Today is the day I have to fix the satellite I was looking through the tools that I had to use. I was fairly familiar with all the tools because I used them in my training. Mias and I had to get suited up. My space suit was three layers thick. We boarded the space shuttle and headed towards the the satellite. When we arrived we gathered our tools and went out space walking. The suit had a lot of cool features. For example I could talk to Mias with a little microphone that was built into the suit. Once we were on the satellite we found the problem very quickly. We got out are tools and started working.I held the screw while Mias hammered. It took us about seven minutes to fix the satellite.

21st June 2010 MISSON BREAFING
I woke up this morning to find a letter that said 'Report to room 43 for mission briefing'.I walked into the room and saw two men and my partner, whose name was Mias. The man pointed to a board behind him and said 'This is the satellite you two will be fixing'. Pictures of a device were shown on the board behind him. He went on explaining everything we had to do, step by step. It took about 2 hours for him to explain. He told us that most satellites are too far up to repair but this one is a bit lower then most satellites. The satellite is very large; the fifth biggest in space. They have been facing some technical difficulties with it.
The pay is also good. The man said it was 180,000$ for the trip, but I would go to space with no pay. I will be staying in space for about a month. My partner and I will stay at the ISS(International Space Station). Mias and I have become very good friends for some reason we just click. This is also the first time he went to space we are both very excited and curious.
26th of June
It is the day I have been waiting for my whole life;lift off. I got up and violently shook my sleeping partner. I said with delight 'Wake up we are lifting off today", today's the day!' We walked out to the platform where a few photographers were waiting. When we stepped into the shuttle I felt a massive butterfly in my stomach. They secured me onto the seat. It was very tight and uncomfortable, but I didn't mind. I heard them counting down 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 LIFT OFF!I thought in my head this is what I have dreamed of. I thought of how proud my dad would be.The force of the launch was very strong. I was so caught up in my thoughts that the force surprised me. I stole a glance at Mias and saw a grin on his face.

It was amazing. Floating up in space. I had to push my self of the walls of the shuttle to get around and it was quite hard to move around in the beginning. After a while I got used to it. Play time was over, it was time to get down to work we had to fly the ship to the ISS. I was the co pilot because Mias used to be a fighter pilot for the US air force so he had more experience at flying.

Astronaut Patrick
It has always been my dream to go to space. I spent long nights with my dad gazing at the stars. One day this dream came true. When I was studying I knew the many hours of work would be worth it, I knew that one day soon I would be going to space. I was interviewed by NASA and they said that I was the most qualified candidate for this job. They told me I would be going with a man from South Africa. The job will be fixing a satellite. I have the brains for the job, but NASA now needs to see if I am physically qualified for the job. I began training immediately.I'm as happy as a lark .

I started my training today and I went on the most nauseating ride of my life. They put me on a machine that showed how lift of would feel. I sat on this machine and I went round and round. When I got off almost vomited, but I held it in. They also put me under water in my space suit to fix something that is similar to the satellite I will be fixing. The reason it was under water is because I have to get used to the zero gravity in space.
